Rest and Be Thankful Coffee Shop, close to the lighthouse on Marine Drive, will change hands this month after 20 years.
The coffee shop was built in 1908, and acted as a refreshment facility for walkers until its use as a coffee shop from 1962 onwards.
Changing hands several times in the years since, the café has grown from a simple shack to a popular coffee shop which has hosted music events, parties and gatherings.
But after 20 years under the same custodians, the business has been taken on by a “very well experienced” new owner.
The outgoing owners thanked those who had supported the business and wished the new owner success.

In a notice to customers on social media, Rest and Be Thankful Coffee Shop said: “So after 20 years in this wonderful place this is farewell.
“We just wanted to take the time to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support over the years, it has been greatly appreciated.
“We have left our much loved business in the very good hands of a very well experienced lady.
“We hope you will show her the support and kindness we have had.”
The cafe’s most recent expansion took place six years ago, which saw the construction of a popular rooftop terrace.
