Mostyn Estates Ltd, which owns the building, has put the M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) Contract for Leisure Scheme out to tender for the refurbishment of the vacant Mostyn Street unit into a new multi-level Iconic entertainment and leisure venue, which requires extensive mechanical, electrical and plumbing upgrades.
The ground floor is set to accommodate food and beverage operations, ‘light gaming’, darts and shuffleboard, while the first floor will provide a sports bar, mini golf, tenpin bowling, sports-themed activities and entertainment zones, including an 11-hole indoor crazy golf course.
The notice states: “It is expected that the contract sum will be within the following range for the works – £2m to £3m exclusive of VAT.”
The deadline for contractors to submit their tenders is September 28, with the contract expected to be awarded on October 8, 2026.
Last month, Mostyn Estates applied for new signage at the Mostyn Street site, which was vacated by the high street giant in 2022 amid its relocation to Parc Llandudno.
The building was briefly occupied by UK Leisure Living as a pop-up shop and the Calendar Club, but these were only short-term leases.
Mostyn Estates will work with a leisure operator who will manage the venue.
In July, Mostyn Estates said: “We are delighted to be delivering this exciting development and repurposing a beloved building in a central location of Mostyn Street.
“We feel this project will support the high street in attracting footfall and spend across both the day and evening bringing a vibrancy to the high street and town, which all businesses can benefit from.”
