Astronaut Tim Peake to take Llandudno on a journey to space on UK tour

BRITISH astronaut Tim Peake is keeping his feet firmly on the ground as he heads to Llandudno with his one-man show, “My Journey To Space”.

Tim made history in 2015 as the first British astronaut to visit the International Space Station.

And now fans can take orbit with Tim at the Venue Cymru on Thursday September 22, as he shares the secrets and science of how and why humans journey into space.

“My Journey To Space” gives audiences a fascinating insight into life as an astronaut, complete with breathtaking photographs and never-before-seen footage.

Tim Peake joined the European Space Agency in 2009, after an 18-year career in the Army.

In December 2015, he became the first British astronaut to visit the International Space Station to conduct a spacewalk while orbiting Earth.

“One thing I never anticipated in being selected for the ESA programme, was just how much my own experiences would inspire and fascinate others,” said Tim.

“I will always be mesmerised by space and space travel, but I am just as honoured to be able to travel the country sharing my story and experiences.

“The tour embellishes on the stories in my book, ‘Limitless’. It takes you through how I got to be where I am, doing what I do, and what it takes to become an astronaut.

“The show aims to answer all your questions about living and working in space.

“There’s a very beautiful section which takes the audience on an orbit round earth, looking down on the planet and then a high-adrenaline insight into spacewalking.

“It’s the closest we can get to actually taking people into space.

“There are a lot of audio-visual elements to it, and the feedback so far has been brilliant.

“People say they learn a lot from coming along – whether they were already knowledgeable about space and my story or not, they’ve gotten new insights.

“Some of the best responses have been the people who came along to accompany a friend or partner, and they’ve had a fantastic time.

“You don’t have to be into space to enjoy it, you don’t need any prior knowledge or anything, it’s just a great experience.

“It’s uplifting, motivational, inspiring and funny. From eight-year-olds to 80-year-olds, it’s very much accessible for all age groups.”
